Effects of Transcatheter Closure of Atrial Septal Defect on End-Tidal CO2 (FETCO2)

Background: Although it has been demonstrated that cardiac remodeling and exercise capacity improve after transcatheter closure of atrial septal defect (ASD), little is known about FETCO2. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed Three ASD participants who underwent Transcatheter Closure between April 2016 to March 2017. The pulmonary to systemic flow ratio (Qp/Qs) was estimated in all patients and right ventricularsystolic pressure (RVSP), Mean Plumonary artery pressure (MPAP) were measured. A symptom-limited, Cardiopulmonary exercise test (RAMP protocol) was performed at pre and post operation in every patient. We Investigated FETCO2, VO2max, minimum VE/VCO2. Result: The Fig. 1 of the test results is as follows. Conclusion: FETCO2 is the only sensitive marker of Transcatheter Closure of Atrial Septal Defect in short term.
